Barbara has some beautiful fall colors for us today with Autumn for dessert: Pumpkin Pie + Garden Green + Cherry Cobbler.
I used these colors to try out a partial inlay idea I had been thinking about. I used a strip of blended colors over-stamped with a bark like texture image and edged with scalloped lace trim. The leaf is cut out of the panel prior to adding the Garden Green strip and lace, leaving a stitched outline around the large leaf.
I sure hope you will be able to join us in playing with these lovely colors!

Oh, oh, oh! Chris! This partial inlay idea works so wonderfully! I love the little bits of faux stitching around the edge of the leaf. Plus, I love the overlaid stamping on the blended strip. I swear, I learn so much for your creations. Thanks so much for describing your process!

Chris this is a beautiful card, I love the stitched leaves die set, they have a lot of versatility! Your design looks wonderful with the inlay of the leaf! Your selection of DSP is perfect for this weeks challenge too! Love it all!

The woodgrain stamped over the colored panel makes a stunning background for this card.
