If we are at the beginning of Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere - I guess it must be Autumn somewhere else.
I used a Tutti Die to create this forest scene. Cut it twice and then coloured it in with water colour pencils. On the second die cut I coloured the leaves again and cut them off to use later.
The background is a water coloured - sploshy background in lovely shades of autumn colours.
I used the extra leaves to add another layer of coloured leaves on the ground under the squirrel to make it look more woodsy. I think I might go back now and give the little squirrel a tiny little black pearl eye.
I love little squirrels - but we don't have them here - I would gladly swap a pair of squirrels for my resident bush tailed possums that are running around my garden at the moment - instead of collecting nuts they are eating all the spring flower buds and stripping the maple trees of their sweet young leaves.
Hope you enjoy this water coloured garden scene.

What a fabulous die and great background. I love you put leaves under and around the cute squirrel. Gives it a windy look. I can send you a squirrel or two. LOL Sorry about what is happening in your garden. Critters can really do some damage, at times.

Fab colouring. I'd gladly swap you some grey squirrels for a couple of possums, LOL. An import from US, they have almost wiped out our native red. They're nice enough, but I've spend a small fortune on squirrel-proof bird feeders for me and for a couple of friends.

I love your fall scene with your little squirrel friend! We have a lot of squirrels in our backyard and they are so fun to watch. They have been eating out tomatoes of all things, but that's ok bc my mom keeps giving us lots from her garden. Good luck with your garden!!

Growing up on a farm I can relate to your possum problem - they would come in the spring and strip a corn field of all the baby corn. So while the squirrels could be messy - they didn't so as much damage - Your squirrel on the other hand looks happy just to be playing in the falling leaves and finding the occasional acorn to hoard. Love the die cut and brilliant colors you used.

What an absolutely GLORIOUS fall scene, wow!!! To me, your background of light, delicately-colored and blended fall colors looks like more swirling of leaves but way into the background, then I'm seeing the clarity and depth and brightness of the gorgeous fall leaves in the foreground. GENIUS, artistic genius!!!
I am absolutely loving this Tutti die, I believe that I have one Tutti die which I had forgotten about that I need to pull out and use when I can...
I live in Southern Ontario, Canada, and we are just beginning seeing leaves start to turn, it's my favorite time in terms of colors, although the leaves here don't have the same brilliance of color that is found on the east coast of Canada, in New Brunswick where I grew up--they have much more of the brilliance of reds that we don't find here in the same concentration, but it's still very beautiful here. I have to drive every 2 weeks to Northern Ontario and spend a few days there each time for specialized medical treatments, and I look forward to seeing how the scenery will be different there from here in Southern Ontario.
Yesterday I was visiting with a good friend his sister at her home, and we sat out in her back deck, where little chipmunks were coming in to receive half almonds she would place on a rock. One chipmunk would hide under one of our chairs until the almond was placed and she moved back to her chair, but the other one simply moved down off the rock and was very close to her, then he'd jump back up and grab his treasure into his cheeks and off he'd go. SO delightful to watch and sit outside enjoying nature with two friends.
Your artwork is truly WONDERFUL, and I look forward to seeing more of it. I have favorited this and if Favorites of the Week was still in operation, your artwork would absolutely be in my Favorites of the Week. I hope that this will soon be back in operation, but I also know that they are doing all that they can to fix the major technical glitches that are preventing this from taking place weekly.
Later today (Sunday, September 13th), I will be listing this card in my CAS Favorites.
I am absolutely LOVING your artwork!!!
I hope that you are enjoying your weekend, are you in Australia or New Zealand? Wherever you are, I hope that you are enjoying today,

A fabulous scene and I love your fall colors! Wonderfully done! My husband grew up on a farm about 65 miles from here and there are NO squirrels on the farm- so he is totally squirrel obsessed. Possoms- not so much, but they eat ticks and so I put up with them!
