This card is for Cathy's Ways to Use It Challenge and also for Polly's DTGD challenge.
I love metallic papers and when I saw Polly's challenge knew I could use it also for Cathy's challenge.
I usually just cut 2 angled pieces of paper and stamp my sentiment in the middle but I wanted to try something different this time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but I have fun trying.
I started out stencilling an angled panel at the top of my CS. I don't have copper ink (must remedy that *wink*) so I used textured paste and copper paint and mixed those but I ended up with a salmon pink look. I made 4 small panels with that and they were tossed aside.
Onto the next attempt...I decided to push my copper acrylic paint directly through the stencil. I can't remember doing this directly onto CS and usually on my gelli plate, but it worked. I left it to dry naturally but I'm impatient so out came the heat gun and it started to bubble...which I knew it would, but I love texture.
Once dried, I decided to stamp with Versamark a line to define the stencilling angling it. Embossed with orange EP...the closest to copper I had which came out really sparkly. Cut the copper panel at the bottom and before adding that I stamped my sentiment....which I thought I had straight with my paper but ooops, it's slightly off the line but I never walk in straight lines according to my DH so I decided to run with it. I had used my last sheet of metallic copper paper so there was no turning back now. Am I the only person who has a lot of oopsies when creating LOL?
I also embossed the sentiment in black EP and should have taken a tip I heard on a recent YouTube video and stamped in black ink and then clear embossed. No matter how many times I use my square embossing thingy before I emboss I always seem to get EP on the card, so that technique is going to have to change LOL
Die cut the leaves in metallic paper and added those and then bling to fill in those spots where I had stamped wonky LOL. I also put leaves across the embossed line as I didn't like the colour in the end.
It's very rich looking IRL. TFL. Happy day and give the Ways to Use It Challenge a go. It's fun and you can find ways to use your supplies.

I've yet to meet a copper ink that doesn't need a minimum of heat-setting and probably embossing too. Maybe there are newer ones that do... my Encore certainly never dries. Love the combination of texture and pattern. The leaves look fab with the angled panels.
