Very cloudy and cool here today, so the colors don't look that great.
I belong to one swap group and the technique for September is stamping with rubber bands. TLC did that a while ago, so I included that challenge along with today's tea party for Howard and Paula and today's colors: merry merlot, mossy meadow and bumble bee.
I made a panel of 4.25x11" crumb cake so I could make two cards with the rubber band stamping. I used the DOx inks on the rubber bands to create sort of a plaid pattern. I hadn't used the fungi and flower die yet so I cut that out of the vanilla cs and sponged a bunch of SU colors on it, ranging from old olive, retired mellow moss to cherry cobbler and a few retired neutrals. I added some pen colors to the flowers and details on the mushrooms. I layered that on a light mossy green diecut to give it sturdiness and cut the 'best wishes' from that same random green three times. I'm so bad at layering dies because I get glue everywhere! I sponged a little night of navy behind the die and added some honey colored stars (this card will go to the Lone Star State, Texas).
I usually don't ever think of gender when I'm making a card and because I don't do a lot of frilly stuff, it doesn't matter. I think this card would appeal to anyone regardless of gender.

Jean, fun card, but your title wins... so punny, so funny. Great background with the rubber band technique. I agree that this is a card that will appeal to either sex.
You mentioned having trouble gluing stacks of die cuts. I read this tip quite awhile back and I think it's helpful: After you apply glue to the die cut, gently tap it onto a scrap paper before gluing to the next piece. It gets rid of the excess glue so it doesn't ooze when you glue the pieces together. Not perfect, but it helps quite a bit. I also keep a damp baby wipe near by to wipe my hands as I am doing this because I usually get more glue on me than the paper. LOL.

Love your rubber band background! Fabulous! I love mushroom images. I don’t know why...just their little bit of inherent magic, I think!

What great 'shrooms you have created here. Love the golden stars accenting the sky.
Another tip for layering thin die cuts-put a strip or two of double sided tape on the back of the cardstock (as wide as your die), cut out the words and when ready to stack, peel off the tape backing and you are ready to make a tidy pile with no glue mess.

What a cool background for your mushroom! I've not tried the rubber band technique, I need to put that one on my to-do list! Your Texas recipients are going to love it! It's a beautiful design with cheerful vibes! TFS
