Polly is our hostess for Teapot Tuesday this week, and we are sending our cards to friends of Pat's (pvilbaum). You can find out all about it HERE.
Since Paula plays the piano, I pulled out one of my piano stamps - Joyful Abandon, from Penny Black. DH thinks this is cheerful upbeat card, so I hope it fits the bill. I got my stars in by stamping a little star from Banner Blast in the background for wallpaper, in Delicata Gold - so in real life it's nice and shimmery.
Image was stamped on white card and coloured with pencils. I drew in the wooden floor, also coloured with pencils. Sentiment is from SU Music Expresses.
I started looking through my background box, and I thought the colours in this one worked well, brightening the scene up a bit. It's from a TLC some time last year, when you were meant to get two prints from a heat-embossed and inked panel put through the Big Shot. I didn't have much luck with the technique, and both these panels went into my background box. (The other one is practically invisible in terms of effect!). It was done with an IO backgrounder, maybe reverse damask, but it's so long ago I don't remember. To tie it in with the music theme, I stamped an IO Music backgrounder on it and embossed with black EP. I love how it turned out. I edged the image panel with black Sharpie and added it an an angle. To finish off I added three faux brads punched from the edges of the background piece, shaped and coated with Glossy Accents, and a treble clef (Lawn Fawn) cut from black glitter card.

I see what you mean about the sentiments. I rarely use music stamps, I think I have some music burnout or PTSD. I really like the background, great look!

I love the way you put all these elements together. The music background on the patterned paper looks great! And who can resist any of the Penny Black kitties? Always adorable.

DH is right -- this is a very cheery card. Penny Black cats are the best and your made them look even more fab. Stamping the musical score over the background really finished the card nicely. The musical notes with the flourishes are stunning. They are both sure to adore this card.

Your DH has a good eye--this card is fabulous! Love that gorgeous background that you "rescued" (we all have a stash of those, don't we??) and that adorable kitty image, so fun!
