This hand-stitched card is from a very large collection that I made over an 18-month period, making about 50 cards, and I gave 44 of them as a special gift to my Mom, who is a master cross-stitcher. This is the 19th of the cards of this collection that I am now uploading. This close-up view is to show the stitching.
I made a decision to use all of the hand-stitched pieces, even those that I did at the very beginning, and this is one of the first that I stitched. Even after stitching more than 50 of these in a variety of sizes (mainly this size and one a bit bigger), I feel that I am still very much a beginner, and I have learned mainly from watching a wonderful Jennifer Mcguire video, which introduced me to the Hand-stitching dies and hand-stitching on cardstock, plus what I observed seeing my Mom stitch, and what I have learned myself by stitching. I would very much love to learn more stitches, and would also love to learn how to create some more intricate patterns.
Like Jennifer MacGuire, I have found hand-stitching on cardstock to be very relaxing and a whole lot of fun. It was really all about creating cards for my Mom that I hoped that she would really like, I had been searching for a way to incorporate hand-stitching into card-making for years, but this was the first that I truly got excited about trying, and it has turned out to be a whole lot more satisfying than I could have dreamed.
As previously stated, this hand-stitched card uses one of my earliest hand-stitching efforts, and I could hopefully do a better job now with stitching, but these cards represent a journey in a few ways, and I am glad that I chose to use my hand-stitching efforts from the very beginning.
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my card. If you leave a comment, know that I appreciate it so very much, and that you have made my day!
Do be careful and be safe and be well in these very unusual and uncertain days.
