Another case of a card by Wendy Harm, featured on Cheryl Miller's blog Sense of Whimsy. I could not get my hands on the gorgeous SU Poppies dp, so I subbed the dp. and also created some striped background paper, using the Stripes diecut by flipping it over and sponging color through the spaces. Sponged the black banner from the Poppies Elements with some black soot dox. thanks for looking!

Love the way you created the green striped background to perfect match the colours in the very pretty design paper. Great idea to use the vellum with the stamped poppies as a background too.

I had wondered if you had created the striped dsp, it goes so well with the poppies patterned paper, and I am impressed that you DID create it yourself, wow!!! It looks FANTASTIC!!! I do love stripes and these look so artistic and so wonderful!
LOVE how you have shadowed the beautiful poppy small blossom with the vellum poppies, it adds so much texture and so much beauty. This card is absolutely glorious, glorious!!! Whoever receives it as a birthday tribute will be very touched and will feel very special indeed!!! Favorited, this is a very special card!
Seeing ribbon on this card has reminded me that I have been neglecting using my ribbon, and I need to do better, the grosgrain ribbon you have used is another great texture and the perfect color match.

One of my favourite colour combinations. I don't know what the paper you didn't have is like, but what you did is beautiful. I like the soft vellum poppies paired with the solid coloured one.
