My card for Nancy's (nwilliams6) Dad, whose nickname is "Pop". Pop is this week's Teaparty recipient--except he likes coffee! In addition to other things...you can read all about Pop in the Make It Pop Teaparty Challenge!
Yes, the cardboard sleeve that goes around a paper coffee cup and keeps your fingers from being burned DOES have a name--it is called a "zarf"! And for some reason, I keep them when I get one...I have a half a drawer full of them...and someday they'll come in handy! I guess that makes me a zarf-hoarder? :-) I cut this one down to fit the front of the card.
I popped up the die-cut Hello with dimensionals.
I followed the directions in Dini's tutorial, Coffee Gift Card, to make just a regular coffee-cup-shaped greeting card instead of a gift card holder.

What a great card for Pop. Those zarf sleeves are sure to come in handy many times. I don't have any because I don't do coffee. :(

Wow! This is adorable. I love that you used an actual zarf -- and I love that I learned that was such a thing as a zarf. As a coffee drinker, he is sure to love this gem.

What a great card. I especially like the leaf brad. Who knew--zarf is a cool name and fun bit of trivia. TFS.

lol - I think most of us learned something new today - Though I will probably forget zarf before I ever have a chance to use it again and revert to calling it a sleeve. I like that leafy DP great for fall and quite masculine with a bit of whimsy.

Surprisingly, for someone who might have one takeout coffee a year, I did know the term, but unsurprisingly I never have more than a couple (from DH) in my supplies, which is a pity because I think they are great on a card, and especially on your shaped one. The wood look paper underneath adds a great rustic touch, along with the little leaf brad. I think those were some of the first brads I bought.

Wow. This came out soo cool. I love that you did a coffee cup shaped card - I am going to check out that tutorial! I am so glad to know that holder has a name - and such a fun name too! Fun that you collect them as well - I have a few and now know what to do with them. Your cool additions to the card make it so perfect for an outdoors lover - and Pop loves the outdoors.
He has tons of stories of things he has encountered in the woods. My favorite is a bear story from his youth. He has morphed it into a story with a strong moral of why you don't try to outrun a bear. I have heard it several times and love it. He is a BIG story teller too - he mesmerizes me.
Thanks for making this beautiful card - he will really enjoy and admire it. Many hugz
