Here is my card for today's CAS-thank a teacher. A while back, I made a card for my good friend from high school. This card will be for her daughter Kathy, who is a 4th grade teacher. She and her Mom are born teachers; it was ordained that they do this necessary work. They're creative, fun, organized, passionate. I thought this sentiment was very appropriate. I feel very strongly that the people who think teachers are overpaid, underworked, shouldn't be paid as much as they were before Covid should spend a week in the classroom. My son just went back to school at the age of 35 and one of his instructors paid for a piece of equipment each student needs out of his own pocket. Where would we be without teachers?
I didn't have a chance to do last week's CAS600 so this card is also for that. I chose the very first CAS challenge that Miss Boo (Jen) posted. I couldn't look at the flannel fabrics that she chose for inspiration but I CASEd her card, using the same background stamp and colors but changed the placement of the focal element and used birds as the theme. Here's her card: CAS01 - Fergie by Miss Boo at Splitcoaststampers
I could also use this for Gracie's DTGD20 challenge, except I forgot one important element. Oh dear....thanks Gracie for a great challenge.

Beautiful card Jean! You could just pretend the light blue was stenciled...it has a similar effect! Thanks so much for playing along on my DTGD2020 challenge! Hugs!
Also, as a retired teacher, I can't imagine how hard it is now with all the Covid restrictions! Most teachers I know would hate to not be able to be with their students in person and would miss all those hugs! I'd hate to have to be an "online" teacher. I'm sure the younger teachers don't mind as much, but then again, being with the kids is half the fun!

Beautiful card. I have just been outside trying to get a pic of a hummingbird. I love your background. Super sentiment.

I LOVE this card, from the hummingbird to the sentiment to the bird in flight background! Neat layout/design and I am delighted to see that SU bird background used. I have that stamp, from long, long ago, and after seeing your card I’m going to pull it out and get ink on it again! Thanks for sharing this super special card and for the inspiration.
