One of my best friends turns 41 in two days. I had an idea to put pogs on her card this year and Toni's corner rounder challenge was a good one for this card. I chose to do one rounded corner and I think it complements the round pogs very nicely.
We had such a huge collection of pogs in the 90s. They were a big thing. It's kind of like playing jacks.
You have to throw a "slammer" at the pogs and you win the ones that flip over. But they came in so many fun designs and were so much fun to collect. Mel left her pogs at my house and my mom keeps everything, so I had Mel's pogs to use on her card. I actually don't remember whose were whose, especially because we would win each other's pogs and switch back and forth. I couldn't bring myself to glue our favorites onto the card, but I chose a fun mixture that I thought coordinated well. We had a lot of Snoopy and Simpsons pogs, so I had to use some of those. Otto just looks so 90s, that I couldn't resist him. The Granny down at the bottom reminds me of Sophia Petrillo and since we want to be the Golden Girls when we grow up, I added her. And one day, we decided to make our own pogs with glitter glue, so I put her "Mel" pog right in the middle. This trip down memory lane needed a reminiscing kind of sentiment that I heat embossed and staple to the card. And because she's one of my best friends, I used my good paper for her. You know this fabulous DP with the holographic foil design is one that I'm inclined to hoard.

What a fun card, and my answer is yes to both of these questions.

This is an awesome and sweet card for your friend! I have never heard of pogs, but they sound like they were really fun. I think it's great that you have one that Mel made in the middle and you even used your good paper for her! LOL!

I must have been sleeping through the 90's because I don't remember pogs...but this is a really cool card for your friend, Jen. I'm sure she will be reminded of all the fun you had playing with and collecting them when she receives her card!

I'm glad you explained what pogs were, I was going to have to look them up! Love the Snoopy one, of course. What fun that you were able to revisit old memories with such a special card. And yes, the one rounded corner goes well with those discs.

I am really old ... I don't remember these 'pogs' at all!! But they sure made a cute card for your friend. I love the greeting - I can sure relate to the jeans part (I don't drink coffee, never have).
