For today's Water Color challenge - Abstract Plus Silhouettes. Angie shared a video here byCreationsCeeCee on creating backgrounds on water colorpaper with wide wet water color brush strokes.
I used her technique on a large sheet of watercolor paper, masking it off into 4 panels so I could make 4 cards. I used various brushes to try and create different looking strokes.
I used a fan brush with the plum paint which left a more linear design with that color.
I drew the stem and leaves with a Pitt Black pen and filled in the leaves with an Ultra Fine Point Sharpie.
The sentiment is a die cut.
I made 3 other cards - all 4 are shown in my post next to this one in my gallery. I used stamps on two of them, and a combination of drawing and stamps on the 4th one.

Julia, this is just beautiful with the colors and all the movement of your designs. Love how you used the fan brush for the swooping strokes. Very attractive card with this technique. Love it. Happy to see you join us this week. TFS

I like your bold strokes of pastel paint - Using the different brushes added texture as well as some interesting shadows and highlights behind that pretty leaf spray.

This is just awesome! i love the colors for a start, and I love the use of the fan brush. I thought of mine and then forgot - because it wasn't with my water color brushes! Your branch is lovely and really the entire card is so professional looking!
