All about when Zach was diagnosed with extreme farsightedness and got his glasses. Journalling is really too long to post. It is all about how he began crossing his eyes and we took him to the pediatric ophthalmologist and he got glasses. It is also about the guilt I felt because I didn't realize sooner that he had problems with his vision. Moms are pretty hard on ourselves, aren't we? It also tells the outcome...he was diagnosed early enough that he doesn't have to have surgery or patch one eye. Huge relief there. It was difficult to get him to wear the glasses at first, so we rewarded him with 2 m&m's every time he put them on and randomly whenever he was wearing them. That's why the m&m's are on the pages.
The paper piecing was done by a friend of mine using her wishblade. She was able to make a computer file from a photograph and used one of the first photos of Zach wearing his new glasses. Layout colors were chosen based on the colors she used for the paper piecing. Title was also cut with Wishblade.

Very nice page! Ilove the fact that you journaled the story behind the glasses. I often leave the journaling and then forget to go back and put it in. Thanks for the inspiration!

This is a fabulous page and layout! And I think you are very wise in scrapbooking this event and journaling so thoroughly about it. As the years roll by, I can assure you that we forget events or they become fuzzy. This way you can always remember.

Great Page!
We went throught this too.
DS started wearing glasses at 17 mos. He lived in his Little Tykes car, too. In fact I would swear that this is his pic. He is almost 10 now.
