I followed this you tube tutorial to piece together the "quilt" on my card. I used 1" squares instead of 1 1/4". https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/356980707937173262/
After I embossed the "quilt" which gives it texture and a realistic appearance, I layered the elements on grey before adding it to a blue base. The sentiment is computer generated and the button and spool of thread (made by winding crochet cotton) came together for a friendly greeting-just because!

what a wonderful quilt-inspired card! the spool of thread and the snowflake like pattern (along with the embossing) makes this a very special card. A fave!

Really beautiful card. I love all the varied parts, especially the thread card. Now I want to make a similar card with that same sentiment- but being me, it will probably say something inside about being patched.😀

This is sooo cool - I love the thread and the ef. I haven't used that ef in years but used it yesterday too - how fun is that. Great minds and all that. Wonderfully done card.
