These 3 cards were my attempts at the Wednesday Watercolour challenge. I highly recommend you check these out...great way to learn and practice even if your sunflowers end up resembling fried eggs LOL
The top 2 cards were my first attempts. I drew my flowers and butterfly...I got those right and then the fun begins. I dropped my paint on, spritzed and my card was wet. By the end I had what resembled a psychedelic BG....which I love by the way.....and my white petals had disappeared and I was left with either no stem or just a stem. So out came the white paint and I painted my petals back in. Yes I know...I am not supposed to do that but what does one do when your petals have disappeared.
Two days later, I try again. I am not one to give up easily. This time I took my Tim Holtz WC paper (textured side) and printed Kia's sunflower and traced that. No butterfly this time. My flower started off ok until I spritzed and my yolk ran...doh! It seems I have a thing for these colours as no matter how I tried not to do the same thing, I did LOL. In the end I had to just say stop otherwise I would have had another runny egg or no egg.
I let each panel dry naturally as they were very wet, added my die cuts and done.
Although they didn't come out like the video and some of the beautiful creations in the gallery, I am happy with the end result. They remind me of MM panels and I love MM.
On the paints...I used acrylic for the top 2 and watercolour paint for the bottom one. Could someone please tell me when each of these should be used otherwise than the obvious. I wondered whether the paints I used may have affected the end result.
TFL and happy day

Oh Jayne - we are kindred spirits in these challenges and as I read your description I both empathized and giggled as it was like reading my own "I won't let this defeat me descriptions". I have to say that I saw daisies until you firmly planted the image of fried eggs in my brain . . . now I see runny yolks everywhere - lol - I love your choice of colors for bg probably because I too, tend to gravitate toward pinks, blues and purples for these things with that ever enjoyable hit of lemon yellow. I am particularly drawn to the psychedelic look of your 3rd offering - that one speaks to my heart & soul! I sure hope to see you around more of these challenges - there is safety in numbers for us newbies . . . .
I have done a total of 12 of these now (11 for challenges and one for an IC challenge) much less stress for the one I chose to do myself!
Here is a closing thought - Creativity is intelligence having fun - Wield that brush!!

They look so artsy, I prefer the one at the bottom and the one on the left, but they look great together!! a hand made card can never be a mistake in my eyes, they are unique, colorful and as I said artsy!!

I'm thinking the first is my favorite. Love your collection of colors, and because you pointed it out, I do see the similarity to sunny-side up eggs, but then again, I also see wonderful Monet-looking flowers as well!
