Cathy is our WTUI hostess today, and she is asking us to use cling wrap. You can find her challenge HERE. With a day off today and a different wrap to play with, I hope to try the felted napkin technique one more time. But actually, I had been working on building up my stash of cling wrap backgrounds while the weather is warm enough for them to dry quickly, and I needed something special for my MIL's 95th birthday, so I made this.
Swallowtail stamped and embossed in gold on a cling wrap background made on watercolour paper (Brushos, Pixie Powder, spray starch). I used bleach to lift colour from the butterfly, went over that with an SN clear gliier pen, and stamped a few background stamps for extra interest. Chunky white EP, panel edged with Encore Gold and gold EP, mounted on black card, MFT sentiments cut from black glitter card.
Because I originally started making this for Lisa's challenge last week, the inside has two spiral pop-ups with butterflies. I'll upload that later on.
