I fell in love with this lady from A Day for Daisies when I made a Teapot card for Anita's mom. One of my friends adores deco style and I thought she would be perfect for her birthday card too. I have also been wanting to use the wave pattern stamp.
Initially, I stamped and embossed the wave background. Printed out the image and colored with Copics and a silver metallic paint on the shawl and a bit in the dress for some shimmer. Then cut her out.
I knew I needed a frame but wasn't sure what. I cut out an arch in black and added silver geometric lines, but it overpowered as did a couple other ideas. I finally settled on this simple frame with gray to tone it down. Not very deco-ey, but it looked much better than the black.
This Altenew Anemone stamp is really a much larger image than I wanted. So, I scanned the stamped image into my computer and reduced the size of the stamp using Word. I also duplicated and then flipped the image in Word so that is actually two bouquets that have been merged. Colored with Copics and cut it out. Technically, the flowers are Art Nouveau and not Art Deco, but I really wanted to use them and I like the soft feminine touch they add.
Finally, the sentiment is computer generated using Sabrina's (Cook22) fabulous idea to print in Excel to get the white lettering on a colored background (I can't preach the labeling gospel of Sabrina enough because this idea is brilliant). The font is Coventry Garden.
Thank you for stopping by for a peak. However you are spending your day, I hope you are doing it in high style.
P.S. My "high style" is comfortable yoga pants and a cotton top. LOL.

The curved shape in the frame is fab with your Art Deco lady, and so is that wave stamp - which originally I thought was embossing. I very much like your colour scheme

Me again, I forgot to say I love your write-up and for reminding me about Sabrina's excel tip. I love that you did the background of the text in grey. Love the font too. Take care.
