I did this card to play along with the Featured Stamper- Debby Hughes (Limedoodle).
I chose this card: Watercoloured Florals by limedoodle at Splitcoaststampers
I have to tell you, Debby is one of my FAVORITE designers, so it was hard to pick ONE card from all of her FABULOUS DESIGNS! I actually DIDN'T want to change ANYTHING! LOL I started trying to get those
GORGEOUS pink flowers & I did get them, but with my eye for rich color, & trying to see how far I could go to add more.... I HAD TO add deeper colors for contrast & ended up with more purple flowers. I actually blended my colors on my card mostly for the flowers & buds & leaves. My first change to Debby's card. LOL When I did the center of the flowers, Debby painted them, but I used a colored pencil to fill them in after a light wash of wc- my second change. The background- I used different colors from Debby, wanting to let those greens look fuller, my third change. My fourth change- the sentiment itself & my fifth change- the position of the flowers themselves. Debby had them more toward the bottom of the card, where I angled them from corner to corner.
SERIOUSLY, it was hard to make ANY CHANGES & I just wanted to find out IF I could RE-CREATE Debby's card! LOL I even when so far as to recreate the lay out of Debby's photo! ;) Making little tags--of course, distressing them after typing them out on my typewriter & mine were made in the U.S.A., not Scotland!;) And I had to die ribbon with food color to get that little blue ribbon & Coffee Stain a piece of muslin for the material at the top right hand corner! Dig out an old falling apart doily, snip a few pieces off my eucalyptus, & dig out some bees wax candles & wrap them with twine. Oh, & pull out my vintage scissors! ( I think Debby & I have more in common than cards!) LOL LOVED doing this! In Debby's video, she said it took her a couple of hours to paint those flowers. It took me ALL WEEK to get this totally together! But hey, what better way to honor this SWEET LADY? HOPE YOU LIKE!!! ;)<3

This one is off the charts, Becky!! You really outdid yourself. So much color. The recipient is sure to know how much TLC went into this. Such a sweet honor to Debby, too! Superstar status!!
