It's been several weeks since I had time to play in the MIX challenge. Dina's yesterday was to use green and a brown circle, to mark national avocado day. My circle is more like an apple seed than an avocado pit, but it is there, nevertheless. I'm trying to use stuff on my desk so I can put it away - the cover plate die was a gift from Cheryl. I cut it from a piece of cling wrap background (Brushos, Pixie Powder and spray starch on watercolour paper), and then dug through my backgrounds. I'd originally planned to use it on a bright zesty yellow and orange Foxy Oxi background, but in the end I liked the colours in this failed paint swiping piece. I used a black Sharpie to create the frame, and while I think the die-cut is elegant, I went for adding whimsy with a little fog holding a birthday banner. Only, darn it, I really intended that sentiment for another work in progress on my desk so I'll have to stamp it again.
