Welcome to August! Time for the Splitcoast Fan Club Christmas Challenge! We'd love to have you join us. I'm also combining this w/ today's IC Challenge & THIS was my inspiration.
I struggled w/ this card. I had an idea in my head but this didn't really turn out like that...isn't that always the case? Anyway, I gold embossed the big ornament. It was so big I only used half of it. I sponged some yellow inks on it & also on a large bg. On the bg, I also sponged a little Brilliance galaxy gold to give it a nice shimmer. Then the wrapped string was heat embossed w/ clear/gold sparkle powder & I die cut out the mid section, inserted the white layer (w/ the embossed greeting) & put it back on the rest of the bg.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ all the product links & closeups: The Write Stuff

What great earrings you chose for your inspiration - and you translated it so well onto your design with the lovely gold stampings and bright sponging!

Such a pretty, non-traditional holiday card, Julie! I love the yellows and gold and that wrapped string stamp is cool! I really like the way you split apart the panels with the white layer!
Merry and Bright is one of my favorite Christmas sentiments and it's so perfect for this bright Christmas card. Your ornament is stunning! They yellow and gold is beautiful together.

Merry & Bright is a super sentiment for this gold embossed filigree ornament. I would never have thought of using yellow as the predominate color for a Christmas card but it sure works here . . .( of course before joining SCS I never would have been stamping pink & purple trees either - lol - but now those are "normal" winter colors for me . . . .)
