This was my 4th attempt for the watercolouring challenge wet on wet. Gosh a painter or artist I am not.
My first attempt was a lot better but I went a little too far with that one and it ended up being covered in gesso. The second is now a mixed media card panel. The third is sitting staring at me every time I go into my craft room and probably will be tossed.
This one, however started out ok but gosh getting those blobby flowers and leaves to resemble something like flowers and leaves was tricky. As for the stem, well let us not go there. I had to add more colour to try and make it look sort of decent plus I was determined to practice this technique more. How hard can it be...it seems very hard for me lol.
So this is my fourth attempt after adding liquid pearls to the centres of my flowers to make them look somewhat acceptable and twirling thread around my card to hide my now what started out as a very thin stem to a sort of cross between a stick and a a thin tree trunk. Not sure there are some flowers like these..they sort of remind me of squashed spiders lol...but hey I tried.
Oh yep I did lots of splatters, added some gold..like the lady in the video and topped it with butterflies lol.
Knowing me I will keep practicing and try again as I'm not one to give up on a challenge.
TFL. Happy day And I hope I gave you a laugh today lol
Ps..decided it looks better side on lol

I say Bravo first off for going freehand on this challenge and secondly spot on, on your watercolor flowers. I will PM you a picture of a 2003 Hero Arts set of tiny watercolor flowers I inherited. They look a WHOLE lot like yours!

I agree with Linda, bravo on this creation. Your flowers are beautiful with the flow you created. Like how translucent you made them. Your shading on the stem is spot on. Sure hope you continue with your watercoloring, it will get additive. Happy you joined the challenge. Fav'd

I love loose watercoloring and you did such a good job with that. I think this turned out great. I know how fun this is and how addictive...as if I need another addiction in cardmaking. LOL

This is wonderful Jayne. I gave up on the free hand but I am so glad that you kept on with your efforts. You have created a wonderful spray of very pretty flowers.
For me, I found the practice to be the best part of this challenge. I am glad you are enjoying the practice too! I think this is stunning! I love how your flowers turned out. I like the gold thread you have Criss crossing the panel and the cute butterflies. Altogether beautiful project!
