I'm late to the tea party this week. I went away for a long weekend to visit my nephew and really missed my craft room. So today I'm combining Teapot Tuesday with Watercolor Wednesday. I may have gotten a little carried away with this card. I decided to use washi tape for Polly's challenge and embellish with my salted background die cut flowers and leaves. I've never had luck with the salted backgrounds and I don't have coarse salt. But today I tried with coldpress paper and Colorburst powders. I figured even if I didn't get a good result from the salt at least I could get some cool variation from the powders. But it worked! Then I just kept on embellishing with Stickles, Wink of Stella, and Nuvo drops. I hope Robin likes it and it cheers her up a bit.
This is so fun! I think the trick is we just don't give up! Keep trying things. Glad you gave it another try! This most recent session with salt was the best I have ever created. It's so fun to see the patterns emerge. I actually had trouble with the salt hardening on the paper. I had quite the time getting it off with a cloth and there is still some on there but it sparkles, so.... I love that you combined challenges! Your Washi is so much fun. Such a cute girl too! Great card!

What a delightful card for both challenges. I see your salt worked really great with the flowers. It is so interesting to see what works and what doesn't for the salt technique. Mine finally worked with Mixed Media paper and coarse salt.
