Polly is our hostess for the Teapot Tuesday challenge this week - you can find it HERE, along with a cute teapot and why we can send our cards to Robin in Waterford MI this week. Sheesh, there must be a lot of Waterfords in the States as well as the one over here, I'm sure there's one in WI as well.
My ears perked up at the link to a ribbon slider, but it's not the one I want to find a tutorial for and fudged my own a few years back. So I settled for the washi option since I have quite a bit - both the ones I used for the kennel were part of a Christmas gift. I wrapped them around the card, used an oval to cut the door, and added a roof cut from red card scored.
The sweet little pup is a great set from Marianne, it's sort of mix and match so you can make a whole load of different dogs. I cut mine from watercolour paper and sponged him with distress inks. I created a little background setting with cloud-embossed blue and two rows of long grass. The bird was in one of the dishes on my desk, and the flowers had fallen out of my sticker box when I was looking for something to decorate an envelope last week, so I added them too.

How cute this card is! I love the pup, and the bird looking at him is adorable. Sweet card with the quilled flowers.

That die cut pup is so cute...really sweet. I love the bird looking at him..ha! And you're right, there is a Waterford in WI (Bobbiesgirl, Carole lives there)...and I thought there might be one in Minnesota...and there's a Waterford Township right in the county where I grew up...who knew?

Don't you love it when good things fall from heaven? Darling card, I would have never guessed that doghouse was made of washi. The bird is delightful. Yes, there is a Waterford, WI, you win the prize for knowing that. There is also a Watertown.

Adorable card and you incorporated both the dog and nature themes. Love the quilled flowers and the bird checking out his pooch friend. All the details in this card just make it perfect for this challenge. A card sure to make Robin smile.

Wonderful scene you've created, Sabrina, with such a fun mix of elements. The die-cut dog is adorable, but I'm not sure I have the patience to cut and assemble that many pieces.

Aw, Sabrina, this so sweet and cute. You have added such sweet elements from the flowers to the bird! Love the log doghouse look! I guess he is not in the doghouse, as the saying goes, he is out of the doghouse, and that is a great place to be. Sweet card for Robin!

How adorable is this! I saw your card before I read your description. I thought you had used the ribbon option - I thought the quilled flower stems were ribbon. Loved your write-up and of course learnt that you not only made the kennel, it's washi tape. You sure nailed the challenge Sabrina. This is wonderful.
