A Knitter's Well Done Hand-stitched Close-up
Added to Favorite
xxxx

Photo Details
Poster: 905lovestostamp

This is a close-up view of card #11 of 50 hand-stitched cards, 44 of those were given to my Mom, who is a master cross-stitcher. More detail are given in the main photo upload of this card.

All of the patterns that I have uploaded and color combinations have been my own. I have made 2 hand-stitched pieces that I made into cards that I copied the patterns, if I upload those, I will acknowledge my source.

I have included this view to show more detail of the Hand-stitching, which was created to look like some simple knitting, using lots of colors, but not all bright colors. I was limited in my embroidery yarn cord, a d sometimes that made matching up the cardstock, especially the fun foam somewhat complicated and difficult, but I made the best choices based on what was available to me.

In the main view of the whole card with the white envelope showing the embossed envelope flap, for some reason, the knitting needles and the big ball of yarn look almost white, yet they were die-cut from silver foil cardstock. I hope that the color of silver foil is easier to ascertain in this close-up view--to me, the knitting needles still look a bit white, but they were cut with the same silver matte foil cardstock as was the ball of yarn. The piece of yarn at the end of the large ball of yarn is actually separate from the ball of yarn, making it optional whether one uses it or not, and for this card, I chose to add it on...

Not that it can be viewed in this photo, but I felt that this card needed something more, so I pulled out my container of embellishments, and I chose Studio Katia's sparkling crystals in clear, and I added a few on the teal embossed layer under the focal layer. The sparkle is very subtle because it's tone on tone, but I think that it adds just a little bit of sparkle that I like, and I plan to add more in the future if it's appropriate for the card...

You can see just a little of the wonderfully majestic purple fun foam "Well Done" die-cut, and I think that you can see some of the wonderful dimension that this fun foam gives. If only it was sturdier once it was die-cut, as I don't dare use it on some cards that I will be finishing very soon because I will be mailing these and the fun foam would not hold up well going through the mail, unless I boxed up the card as a protective measure, and that would be rather expensive to mail this way, unless I am sending other items with this card. I will be sending one card to my Mom and she will hand-deliver it to a friend, as I need to send her a little gift of a crafty tool. I have a sweet treat to send as well, but that will have to wait, as it would melt in this hot weather. So, one could possibly utilize fun foam if I wish, but the others will need to be made with sending it through the postal system in mind, and I plan to put in a little bit of bubble wrap, so that it can be protected in an envelope as much as possible.

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a closer look at this Close-up view of my hand-stitched card. When I see that someone has liked my card enough to take the time and trouble to leave a comment on this card, it's a huge encouragement and a real boost. That's why I leave comments on cards that really touch my heart, because I know just what it will mean to the artist.

Have a safe and enjoyable day.
