This panel is for a challenge that started out with a dear friend Nancy (NWilliams6) and myself. We decided to challenge ourselves each month to a mixed media project taking initiative from one or two YouTube videos. This month's challenge was set by myself and these were the videos we took inspiration from:
I'm also adding it to the mix challenge.
Other dear friends (Sharon, Gracie, Jan and Teresa) have now joined in our monthly challenge and I can't wait to see what they have all made. It can be a card, tag, journal page, anything.
I chose to make a panel that I will one day use on one of my scrapbooking pages or maybe it may find its way into a journal.
I started with a blank page out of my 6x6 pad and went from there. I sprayed, sponged the paper to give it lots of brown/vintage colour. Then the fun started.
I added some TH tissue paper and also music paper on the CS which you now can't see but it is there. I added texture paste using 2 different stencils which are now mainly covered up LOL but they set my scene. More inks sprayed. I then chose my paper dolls to go with my stencils and went from there. I thought these 2 little rascals looked as though they were just waiting for school to finish LOL.
I added a tag from a retail store that is now mainly covered up but IRL you can still see some of the writing. I have a Vintage clock die and these boys also reminded me of a photo I have of my GGF when he was younger and with a fob watch.
I have been playing around with tea bags after Nancy mentioned that her and Teresa had been experimenting. Gosh it's addictive....making tea, drying and then tearing or stamping. Love this technique. I ran my tea bag through my BS carefully peeling it off. I did find a tip later that said to put some cs underneath first to stop the tea bag ripping. It gave a light embossed effect so I dabbed on more of TH's vintage distress ink and plonked it on my panel. I decided to add a clock out of my stash to give it more effect.
The emphera is all out of my stash. The ticket popping out of the filing drawer (which was fussy cut out of paper) was made with another tea bag and a ticket stamped on it. More emphera and a chipboard added at the top. The chipboard is meant to give the effect of a postage stamp...well that's my take on it LOL.
I decided to create a tuck behind the boys so only the right hand boy is glued down so that I could tuck my journalling card behind them.
There's lots of different stamps on the edges which you can't see as I ended up adding the TH ruler stickers.
Finally I went around the stencilling with a journalling pen and used my charcoal pencil around some of the images to give them definition.
All in all I had a fun time and what started out as eoewhat will I do for this challengee , ended up with something that I know I will use in time.
TFL. Happy day

Jayne, this is fabulous with many fun layers, fun techniques, and fun items. I can tell from all the great stuff you added that your stash of MIX items is amazing. The quill pen, numbers, filing cabinet and tea bags are my favorite things. I love your title too.
Totally fun project - we all get inspired differently and have different stash items and pet techniques so it is interesting to see how the same 2 video inspirations get us to such different projects. Even my two projects aren't the same - I watched the videos three different times and felt different each time.
Can't wait for the next one!!!! Hugz

Jayne my mouth is hanging open! That is a piece of art that needs to be framed and hung in a room! WOW. Such detail, without reading how you made it I could not have told you. Fabulous. You know I'm not a mixed media person so my opinion is only in awe of the finally project! You go girl.
