What a wicked fun inspiration site today. So much fun stuff to look at. I bet I could have found something way funkier and crazier to use for my inspiration, but this llama plant pot was just begging to be made into a card using this Sizzix stamp and die set that I bought on clearance at Hobby Lobby last year. This card took me FOREVER to make. So. Much. Die. Cutting. I was coloring the llama exactly like the planter when Desmond walked in and saw the picture up on my TV screen. He asked if I was going to put plants on his back like in the picture. Well, yeah, I guess so. More die cutting. More gluing. I also have a problem of needing to put my stamps away right after I use them. I put this stamp/die set away three times before I was done with it. I kept having to get up and get it again. And then I threw my scissors in the trash by accident. But I still had a great time making this and I love it.

So many wonderful details to see. Desmond was right on to ask about the plants. They look great. I think your "problem" as you described it about putting your stamps away just after using them is a great thing. Leave no mess behind.

this is soooo cute, Jen! Love your llama. I hear you w/ the die cutting...if I had done it, I'm sure I'd be missing half of the pieces. Parts always disappear.

I really love how your background looks like a neat, handmade woven blanket. SO beautiful!!! So much detail, and a cool tongue-in-cheek message. I am sure that this will be appreciated and it will bring a smile to the person you give this as a gift. Your brighter colors in combination with the brown blend very well together, not a color combination I have considered, and I can see how well it all works cohesively together. Those colored banners add a festive touch and I also love the texture of the plant, it looks so real, and I can see why this card took so long to make, but I think that all of your effort was worth it because it turned out so very well!!! I personally find that my cards take longer than I think they should take, that I take too long when sometimes what I'm making is quite straight-forward, I have much to learn. This card of yours is truly lovely!!!

So I laughed and shook my head "yes" all through your discussion of the making of this card. Especially throwing out the scissors -- classic move! But I'm glad you retrieved them before the trash was dumped. Retrieving from the big trash can is much harder -- says the voice of experience.
But this card turn out so wonderfully wonderful it was worth your effort! The colors are so lively and festive and the bg paper sets the mood so well. Desmond's advice was spot-on and the plants are definitely the cherry-on-top. Except, maybe the sentiment is -- it's so cute. Lucky recipient whoever receives this masterpiece. Ole!

I almost used that same inspiration piece, and so glad someone did. Your background with this is awesome and that sentiment is terrific. I wish I had that one for the llama sets I have.
