I'm very happy to use my panda origami stamp today, haven't ever inked it up. I bought it because my late brother Bill's nickname was Panda and I like origami. His family did not call him Panda, his friends did, and truthfully, I'm not sure why. I tried to Google it, thought it was connected to a November birthday but can't find a thing. His friends were constantly giving him panda stuff and at his funeral four years ago, we put out most of his pandas and asked people to take one. The priest who did his funeral had the same birthday as Bill (November 10), he said he knew of the panda connection but I don't remember what he said. Bill was always a quiet, content, slow to move person, meticulous in his creating.
Stamped the panda on wc paper, masked him except for the origami bits flying off his rear end, sprayed two Lindy's sprays, diecut the diamonds (thought they looked good with the bits flying off his rear end), added a little gold and pink gel pen to the origami, tied on some gold thread and a fortune cookie charm and stamped the sentiment. Mounted on black metallic, then the gold mirror. I imagine the fortune cookie is an American invention, not sure about that. I remember when Kissinger went to China and when the National Zoo received two pandas as a gift.

What lovely memories of your brother, and what a great stamp to remind you of him. The diamond die-cut does indeed look great with the origami pieces - and the sentiment is great.

Staying a little cooler today? We really got nailed with rain about noon. Enjoyed reading about your brother. Your card is very artsy...love the panda and added gold. The gold thread and charm really give it an Asian feel. TFS

What a fascinating panda image with the origami end floating about. I enjoyed hearing about your brother, it's good to remember him like this. Overall, I really love your design.
