For a couple of years I have wanted to try this Light Up Tag Book from the chibitronics blog. DH's birthday last weekend seemed a good opportunity - lockdown and work meant that I only had one gift for him.
The tutorial was easy to follow, and I made it over one Sunday afternoon after having cut the pieces the previous day. I did have trouble with my blue LED lights, not sure what the problem is as when I prised them off and inserted a red and a green, the red lit up instantly and the green was fainter but constant. I need to test the blue ones before trying them again.
All images coloured with Polychromos. I created a sort of waterlily and pond for the frog. The little heart aperture has red vellum behind it. For the back I used a sentiment from Unity, stamped some stars from TCP and cut one of them out to add the light behind it, using regular vellum coloured with a yellow Sharpie. I stamped little music notes on vellum for each of the band members inside, and to make life easier, punched the circle apertures instead of trying to freehand a shape. Spellbinders labels for the front, everything else is in the Elizabeth Crafts set.
He loved it, and propped it open so that by now the battery is starting to run low .
