This is for today's F4A (use two background stamps, stamped in two colors) and Shelly's VSN (crescendo). I broke the rules: I used DOx ink for the color building background instead of watercolors.
A little music history: until 17th century, the only way to achieve a crescendo (an increase in volume) was to add more instruments playing. As instruments, especially wind, evolved, they achieved the ability to increase and decrease volume on their own. The opposite of crescendo is diminuendo.
For the background colors, I used DOx bundled sage, peeled paint and forest moss. A subtle crescendo in hue but it does get darker. I stamped the first background stamp, a burlap chevron, with water, which is very subtle but it's there. Then I did another crescendo of color with the circle background, using stormy sky, faded jeans and blueprint sketch, spritzed with water. I love how this turned out. Simple stamping with some of my favorite music stamps and a few gems complete the project.
