This card is for Annette's VSN challenge. When I saw the challenge and listened to the catchy song this was not what I intended to do. It was at 3am whilst awake last night that I thought of my crazy cats and wondered if I could catch one of them fishing on a dark night on a boardwalk.
I did. Meet Charlie....he's been sprung. He's also eaten the evidence.
I don't have fishing stamps and couldn't find my stickers. I also didn't have a fishing rod so improvised as well as with the stickers lol.
I've also been wanting to do the spotlight technique for some time....it's been on my list since March. Finally today I had a go. I went over my allotted VSN time of 1 hour but I had such fun with this.
I rubbed Gesso first on the boardwalk to give a rustic look and used 3 colours. My lines are wonky but some boardwalks are and especially when you look at them late at night lol.
The BG sky had lots of plonking happening. First marker pens and then paints until I was happy with it. Alpha added and done.
Inside the sentiment will say...It's your birthday.
TFL. Happy day

VERY FUN! Love your boardwalk at night, the skeleton fish, and the fun cat. Love your humor. Hugz

Nothing like a good story card and your Charlie is so darned imaginative, and fun. This could totally be the cover of your children's book. I'd like to order a signed copy, please. You rocked the spotlight technique and this challenge. Fav'd!
