I cut white cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" then scored and folded it at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" for the card. I cut two smaller pieces, one of black cardstock at 4" x 5 1/4" and a white piece at 3 3/4"x 5." I used the stencil and green teardrop ink to color the small white panel with leaves. I stamped the elephant with pink ink three times so I could layer it. I stamped the balloons three times also and the leaves. I stamped the large balloon with the "Miss You" sentiment using the Misti. Then, I fussy cut all the individual items. I glued the layers together using Gina K Connect Glue. I attached the leaf panel to the black cardstock panel using a Gina K Tape Runner and then attached it to the card base. I cut three black cardstock circles and one white one using two nesting circles and the Vagabond. Using Connect Glue I attached the circle layers to each, white on top and then stamped the sentiment and leaves using the Misti. I attached it to the leaf panel on the front of the card. Next I glued the elephant layers together and added it to the card. I glued the balloons together and added them to the card along with the leaves and tiny hearts. I covered the balloons and hearts with clear Wink of Stella. The card is for my four-year-old great-granddaughter.
There is a story behind the pink elephant. My mother wrote an unpublished children's story when I was very small titled Michael The Little Pink Elephant. It's about an elephant who was laughed at because he was different. He learns that making people laugh is a wonderful gift and being different is nothing to be ashamed of. The story has been read to lots & lots of children including my own, my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
