The ephemera I used is a piano book that I studied from in high school. Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy was a German Romantic composer, born in 1809. The paper has yellowed and is brittle but still usable. I used some bars of music for the main background, painted and splattered with three colors of acrylic for the MIX (I used the bottom row of colors: light green, a light neutral that I interpreted as metallic gold and a plum color). I cut out some pieces from the book, including his signature, the Opus (work) this piece comes from and others. I rubbed the Brilliance pad on them and mounted the words on a piece of light greenish yellow cs. I decided to do a flower with the words, added some sequins and some vines with gel pens.
This music is from a book called Songs Without Words, which I thought appropriate for today's (music theme in honor of VSN) and last week's F4A (no stamps). The strip on the left is Songs Without Words in German, the piece is called Spring Song, the tempo marking means medium tempo, gracefully, senza ritardando means 'without slowing down', and the rest are examples of titles of the pieces. Many of the titles are about emotions and feelings. I really enjoyed working out of this book so long ago and I think I'll try to get back into practice. My piano is painfully out of tune though.

No comment on brittle paper from your youth! LOL! Beautiful music card, mf! (was tempted to use Gene on his lamppost!).
