I need to get a move on and make a Father's Day card for my husband. The green of the trees made me think of leaves so I used a leaf stencil on my Gel Plate. I masked an area before pulling the print so I had room to stamp the sentiment.
thanks for looking.

Karen, This is a beautiful card.I love the colors you've used.
When I saw the top, at first I thought it was finger painting from a kid for Father's Day.

I have never tried using the gelli plates, but I can see from your image what is possible regarding ink blending and texture, and oh my goodness, it's absolutely LOVELY!!! I'm a giant leaves fan, and that's what originally drew me in. I love your addition of some blue/turquoise in the lower RH corner especially, and it adds an absolutely wonderful color blend. These leaves, wow!!! I am impressed to see the motion captured in the texture from this gelli plate, perhaps it's what normally happens, but in combination with the leaves, it's glorious--sorry to be so uneducated as to how this technique works.
What a perfect card for your Dad, it's a huge blessing to be able to pay tribute to our wonderful Dads if we're able to still thank them--in my case, my Dad is in heaven, but I will be thanking an uncle with a late card, should have thought to do it earlier, hmmm...
Thank you for giving me the idea, I do think that I will do something either with leaves or fishing, as I do have a few stamps all about fishing that I bought with him in mind.
I really like the swath of white that you have left for your sentiment, it's really organic and it fits so well with the focal image, this card is just SO stunningly beautiful, I hope that you have the opportunity of playing with your gelli plate lots--just one area of your amazing artistic talent, Karen, I'm a fan of your work here on SCS, and I appreciate all that I learn from you and other very talented artists here.
I have favorited this card. Enjoy Father's Day weekend.
Blessings, and again my thanks for all that you continue to teach and inspire me and so many others here on SCS, Karen,

This is so beautiful! Such a great design. I love that you thought ahead and masked off space! I would have thought of it AFTER I had created my background!
