I made this card initially for this week's Free For All Challenge. Shirley is our hostess and she is asking us to "Let's Flamingo" by using flamingo's on our cards. I just received this gorgeous flamingo image from Ann (Annsforte3)- thank you Ann! So this was the perfect opportunity to color this up. The image is colored with copic markers and the sky is sponged on with ink using a cloud stencil.
The next challenge this card fits is today's Inspiration Challenge. Angie is our hostess and she has chosen "Kawaii Pen Shop" as our inspiration site. I saw these beautiful pens and fell in love with them immediately: https://kawaiipenshop.com/collection...ink-pen-6-pack. I just was not sure how to incorporate this image into my card until I remembered this week's CAS challenge. Jen is our hostess and she has chosen "Let's Strip" for the challenge. I was all in because it is paper! Jen, I have giggled about this all week so thank you for that!
Now I had a plan because I could translate these colorful pens into strips of paper to create the background. I have had these strips of paper in my stash for at least 20 years so what a joy to finally use them. They are different sizes in width which actually turned out to be a good thing because they all fit perfectly onto the card front.
I want to thank Shirley, Angie, Jen and Ann (for the image) for this week's wonderful challenges. And thank you for looking today. ~Karen.
