I am very late for the tea party. To be honest, the easy suggested components and theme slowed me down. You would think that since I have been participating in the the teaparty challenges since 2009, that I would have more tea relate images, but I don't. I did buy this little teacup image a long time ago (don't even know who makes it anymore). So I had to figure out how to use it. Today, I just made myself sit down and start it. This is how I made it.
*Cut the cardboard (Amazon box)
*Gesso on a layer of paper
*Gesso on some butcher paper
*Gesso on some tissue paper
*Gesso on a paper doily
*Gesso on some sheet music
*Switch to white gesso
*Gesso on some ribbon
*Put on a bit of Gouache color and mist with water
*Spray on some Dylusions spray
*Stencil on some white gesso really thick and let dry for 3 hours
*Stamp tea cups and paint them with Gouache colors
*Fussy cut the images
*Open mail and see Teresa sent me some tea bags - gesso one on
*Sponge on a bit of ink - mostly vintage photo
*Add the images and gems
It feels like a tile (not as heavy but really solid). I am thrilled to find another way to use cardboard from my Amazon boxes.
So I have music, tea cups, tea bags, and paper doily - I didn't get the sweets but the gesso layers look like frosting...
Thanks for looking! Hugz

Your card is simply ah-mazing Nancy! I have no idea what you did to make this gorgeous card, but I sure am appreciating the end result, and I know Melanie will too. Cardboard...really? I am impressed! ~Karen.

You might not have a lot of tea related items, but you made the ones you have look fabulous. What a gorgeous card. And I am in awe of all the steps you took to get it to look like that. Wow.

Nancy...you must have an art studio! WOW...the supplies used which I laugh as I just put 2 Amazon boxes and 1 diaper box in the recycle bin! I use cardboard in my Cuttlebug to get a firmer emboss, does that count?
Thanks for thinking of my friend Melanie...and i know you are a prayer warrior, thanks for including her in prayers to our Lord God Almighty.
