I made this card for two challenges. The first challenge is for the June Mini VSN challenge. Sharon (smadson) is our hostess and she has chosen a wonderful theme called, "Summertime Blues." Meaning, we are to use at least 2 different shades of blue on our card. There are 4 different shades of blue in this card, but it is hard to see in the photo. Sharon, I set my alarm for one hour and was just adhering the final heart when the alarm went off, and I nearly jumped on top of my craft table it scared me so badly. I hope this makes you smile.
The 2nd challenge I made this card for is this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Polly is our hostess and she has chosen a fabulous theme called, "Teaparty Essentials." I do love a good tea party or even a garden party, and it sounds like this week's recipient does too.
The vintage teapot and teacup were stamped on vanilla cardstock using Prussian Blue ink, then both were fussy cut out. Colored the roses and dainty flowers with 2 shades of copic markers, then colored the leaves with a very light shade of blue. Die cut the frilly edge circle die and sponged the edges in Prussian Blue ink. The navy blue strip that goes across the card front is die cut twice using a stitched scalloped border die.
Adhered the dsp layer, then the navy strip, then the lacy edge circle die. Figured out where to put the teapot and teacup, then stamped the sentiment. Added 3 hearts die cut from scraps of blue glitter cardstock.
This card was so much fun to make so thank you Sharon and Polly for the wonderful challenges and thank you for looking! ~Karen.

What a wonderful doily die you have used on this. Your teapot and cup are just charming. This one is sure to please Melanie. It is just so pretty in the shades of blue you have chosen!

Karen thank you from a deep spot (since I know you!) for making this special card for Melanie. The timer jumping made me smile. I couldn't jump off the floor even a couple inches but I too would have jumped at a timer going off when I was concentrating.
Thanks for making Melanie a card, she will be smiling!

Gorgeous Karen, perfect for both challenges. I laughed about nearly jumping on your craft table. I have three timers that go off at 30 minutes 45 minutes and an hour lol.

I agree with Jean...it does remind me of Delft...so pretty! The scalloped doily is perfect for our teaparty. She's really going to love getting this wonderful card in her mailbox. You made me laugh with your alarm story...lol...I'm not usually that precise in my VSN hour limit.

This is So Beautiful, Karen! I love these shades of blue together and the fact you stamped your images and colored them in blue too! What a pretty feminine card this is. Love those sparkly hearts for added texture and just plain fun~

Giggling here, how the alarm startled you...thanks for the giggle. This card is drop dead gorgeous. The blues are so eye appealing paired with the white. Love the teapot and cups image. Terrific card! TFS

I had a chuckle at your alarm going off - good thing you weren't using paint! This is so lovely Karen, I am sitting here watching a show about Delft, this sweet creation would be a sell out in a gift shop.
