Channin Pelletier's "Letter Substitution" lesson on Day 10 of Online Card Classes' "Spring Card Camp 2" inspired this card. I thought a singing frog would be perfect for a birthday card.
I cut a wide strip of smooth bristol paper to 4-1/4" long. After die cutting my letters from a lime green cardstock, I drew guidelines on my bristol paper. I placed the letter "H" (without gluing it), and used that as a guide for placing my frog stamp. (I don't know the manufacturer or name of that stamp set.) I placed the strip in my MISTI, erased the center guideline where the frog would cross it, and double-stamped the frog in Fog ink.
I used my Tombow markers to color the image. Then I glued my letters in place. I put down the H first, since I knew where it went, then glued the Y 1/8" in from the opposite side of the panel. Then I positioned my two Ps so they were evenly spaced, and glued them in place.
I stamped one of the birthday words from "Birthday Builder" in Lime Green ink, which ended up matching the green cardstock pretty well. I used my "Rule of Thirds" grid sheet to make tick marks on the front of my card base. I centered my panel over those marks, & adhered it with my ATG adhesive. I got 2 patterned papers from my scrap stash, and popped them up on foam tape. And that finished this simple card. I plan to give it to my mom for her birthday this October, since she likes frogs. I just hope I can keep the secret until then!
