I made this card for 2 challenges. The first challenge is the Alphabet challenge. Ann is our hostess and she has chosen the letter I for this week. The I in this card is for the iridescent glitter paste used (this is really sparkly in real life) and for the wrought iron border punch.
The 2nd challenge is for this week's Free For All Challenge. Angie is our hostess and she has challenged us to make cards that "Sparkle, Shimmer or Shine." How fun!
I wanted to use my Gina K leafy stencil because it has only been used one time so I went out to the Gina K blog and saw a card very similar to this one that I loved and wanted to make. I used the same stencil and card design, but I changed up the colors, the border punch and the sentiment.
I used BoBunny Turquoise glitter paste and Gina K's leafy stencil to create the top portion of the card, then set this aside to dry. Embossed the lower white area with a tufted embossing folder, punched the border with a border punch and stamped the sentiment. When the stenciled panel was dry, then assembled the card. This would be a really fun card to mass produce.
Thank you Ann and Angie for the terrific challenges this week. I would not have gotten this card made were it not for these challenges because it got me thinking about my stencils and glitter paste, and thank you for looking! ~Karen.
