The sketch showed a central focal item with four "strings" radiating out from the item. I chose to use four triangles of Stampin' Up! (SU) Garden Green cardstock radiating out over an SU Mint Macron front panel for a more dramatic effect.
Because the color dare was greens, I used two shades of Copic markers to color the rose after I had stamped the rose with black ink, then stamped on top of that with Versamark and heat set clear embossing powder I'd dusted over it. Doing this always makes the stamped image more dramatic, and I prefer to do this especially when I am coloring the image with alcohol markers like Copics.
The rose was fussy cut out, then a piece of craft foam cut roughly the same shape as the rose was glued to the back to raise the rose for an even more dramatic effect.
I didn't have a special occasion in mind, so used the more general "celebrate" sentiment cut from black cardstock using a Sizzix die. I actually cut 3 words, then stacked and glued them atop one another to add depth to counter how high the rose is off the card front surface. I think the card is appropriate for a birthday, anniversary, or even a wedding.
The final step was to add the three shiny dots to the lower right in the same shade as the Copic color I used on the rose leafs.
The card base is the same green shade as one of the Copic markers, and the radiating triangles.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as "2" out of a possible "5" because I had to fussy cut the rose, and use a trimmer to carefully cut the symmetric radiating triangles. Not difficult tasks for experience crafters, but could be a challenge for beginners.
