I just had to play in the MIX challenge this week. I have never heard of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, but his art and views on life are interesting.
In honor of his views on recycling and saving the environment, I used some old wrinkled tissue paper that I was going to throw out as the base for this page. I used gesso and layered pink and green pieces. I coated it with white gesso after getting several layers down but you can still see a bit of the green and pink. Next, I took a stencil and layered thick white gesso. After it all dried, I painted the cup and flowers and added in some gold touches.
I was inspired by this creation - Earth Flower Vase:
I also recycled the bag from the green tea I was making when I did this. I feel sure he would approve of that.
Not sure how he felt about Psalms, but he inspired me to do this page on Psalms 146:1-2 - Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.
Super fun challenge.

Your mug of tea is great Nancy! I'm glad you were inspired by his paintings...they are unique. I really like your use of gold on this..the edging of the squares and the centers of the flowers...its gives your Bible page an illuminated look. Very cool design!!

Nancy,I knew what challenge this unreal Bible journal page was for the minute I spotted it in the gallery. Fred would be loving this!!! You and he have a lot in common with recycling in spectacular ways. Another jaw dropping magical page my friend.
