Okay stretched the sketch a bit, using trees for piece 3 and the rocks for the cross piece (2). Just got back from seeing a pelican migration coming through, by Lake Superior and it was on my mind. Since pelicans are usually associated with oceans and warmer weather it is doubly cool. I didn't add the 50+ birds in that I really saw but at least got the one that was standing on the rock in the middle of the river. Simply stamp layered the birch and the rock, cut and colored out the pelican and stamped and water colored background. Hope no one minds me manipulating the sketch so much-couldn't keep this off my mind.

Clever ideas! The layout is evident so you're all good. Great scene and fun backstory to go with your creative process. Love the die-cuts. The shading of colors is terrific. Fabulous trees in the background. Well done! Thanks for creating with the Sketch Challenge.

So pretty! How fun to see a pelican migration! I love those birds and you have made this one so cute walking on the jutted rocks. Your water color paper has beautiful texture~
