This page is continuation of our trip in 2017 in the Canary Islands. It is also for the VSBN challenge.
The challenge was to use a window or something transparent. I had just the paper for this...a beautiful vellum that was one of the colours in my photos. The problem was I didn't have enough of it. First doh!
My intention was to make 2 long windows and have them open onto the photos but I tried all ways to retain the pieces out of the die cut, including using what some of my friends on this site term my loo roll in my craft room. What it actually is is a very large roll of double sided tape. I purchased this a few years ago after watching a Jennifer McGuire video and every time I use it, it never comes out the way I intended. Today was one of those days. It also meant that I used a lot of my paper.
That is when I thought ok let's make them windows. The top left photo was fussy cut with the help of my die in the end and I had to be careful not to cut out some of the beautiful detail in the windows in the church. The BG paper is my panelling...well it is vertical lines LOL.
The other eoewindowe on the right lifts to show a full sized photo of the panelled ceiling in the church. I fussy cut a photo of one of the windows and decided to stick that on top of the window as it is so beautiful to look at. A pocket is behind this photo which when pulled out with the ribbon/embellishment is a smaller photo that I wanted to retain on my page.
As the challenge was to include decorative trim, I used one of my old punches and added that on 3 areas. I always love punched edges on my pages and never use them enough.
If you wish to see the actual photos, head to the VSBN link where I have added an additional photo.
I also decided that I wanted to stamp some light text at the top right of the page. I don't have a lot of text stamps and none that were quite right. This one is in French and DH and I tried to translate it and not sure in the end what it means LOL, but it is text. My stamping wasn't the best and looked messy so I ended up having to cut a small piece of blue CS and stamping that first. It does not match perfectly but it is the closest I had. Another doh moment!
What should have been an easy page, ended up being a little tricky for me at times but I am glad that I persisted.
TFL. Happy day
