This is my entry for the Alphabet Challenge letter F: my F is represented by the technique, faux diecut inlay, the word friend in the sentiment, and the stamp set, Fashion Wear.
A few weeks ago, the Wednesday tutorial was to do a faux diecut inlay. I didn't have a chance to do it then but thought it would be perfect for my F card. Here is a link to the tutorial: Faux Diecut Inlay Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
I die cut the rose from black card stock and then impressed the die cut shape into white card stock using a plumber's gasket.
I did quick Copic coloring leaving the rough edges of the color changes because my daughter liked it that way, I'm not sure about that part. I adhered my black outline around the colored image and die cut the rose from Soft Sky card stock to surround it.
A heat embossed sentiment, some sequins, and attaching it to a white card base completed the card.
Thanks for the tutorial, Ardyth, thanks for the challenge, Ann, and thanks for looking!

Catherine, this is really gorgeous. I have never heard of faux die cut inlay before so thank you for sharing this tutorial (I always appreciate how you do this). Your rose is really gorgeous and I think your coloring is fabulous. I agree with your daughter, I like the less blended look myself. Great idea to use soft sky cardstock instead of white here - it gives your card a bit of a vintage look that I really love. ~Karen.
