WooHoo it is Tickle a Teapotter time of the month and Susan aka One4Joy is hosting our special teaparty where we celebrate each other.
Susan is taking us to 18th century England to meet Mary Delany, the woman credited with inventing mixed media collage. Susan has challenged us to create a flower "mosaick" in our own unique style.
Weirdo arty stuff is my default setting, so I thought I would make a digi collage using some Vera Lane Studio's images (using png images allows you to overlap, unlike jpeg images).
During the lock-down I have been rearranging my craft supplies and came across a set of Sharpie markers. They were fun to use, I added a few pencil shadows.
The hardest part was deciding what part of the A4 sheet I was going to use for the card, so I used the lot. I will keep the little one, and wait and see who I am tickling before I decide which card to send.
The fussy cutting was easy as I only used copy paper. One trick when fussy cutting, is to do all the super fiddly areas first, so you have plenty of paper to hold on to. If you can't get into some areas, just colour it in the same colour as your background.
The images are adhered using a kids glue stick, I use the jumbo size stick. On small tricky bits, dab the glue stick up and down, instead of swiping - I hope that makes sense.
Thank you for looking. I hope you are happy and staying safe.

Mrs D. would be in awe of your kaleidoscope trio, Susie! So vibrant and full of life! Hard to believe those were ‘simple’ Sharpie Markers. Goes to show you, it’s what is in the artists hand that matters. Your whimsical work always make me exceedingly happy! Thanks for the cutting tips...I’ve been backward in my cutting...

I love all the cards because these colors are just so pretty against your black base, but I must admit I love the little girl she is so cute and when I see a card like this I know it's a Susie's creation!!

I need to come and get Sharpie lessons - not having Copics, they're my only alcohol markers but they never look like this, I can't get that degree of shading. Before I scrolled down I wondered if this was Polly's, but I should have remembered you use Vera Lane too. It might have been the lack of detailed backgrounds that didn't cue me in to you. Those vibrant colours look fab against the black background. A digi collage was a smart way of getting the black background, very clever!
Laughed at your fussy-cutting tip, it's one I don't always remember, and then I end up with my knife trying to do the last bits without tearing a tail or ears off.

Wow Susie...another reason now that I have to put my thinking cap on harder. Between you, Sabrina, Sue and Helen and others I’ve seen so far, wow there are going to be some lucky Teapotters. These are such fun and cheery. TFS. Keep safe my mate over East. Hugs

Well, I learned something new today - I did not know there was a genre called "wierdo arty stuff" - LOL It makes me think of the adult coloring books that my kids gave me and frankly all those tiny spaces overwhelm me when it comes to coloring. So I truly appreciate someone who has the patience and skill to see beyond the tiny spaces . . .These flowers are filled with both life & fun.
