It's Tickle a Teapotter time and Susan is our hostess this month! Susan has introduced us to Mary Delany's art and challenged us to make a floral mosaick in our own style. That's a tough one for me, Susan! It's also Challenge Your Stash day and Joyce has challenged us to use a flower stamp that has never seen ink before. Everyone is conspiring against me today to make me use flowers. Do I have my own flower style? I realized as I was watching the video of Mary Delany's work that I was not about to put my flowers on a black background--that is definitely not my style. Nope, my style is bright colors and lots of patterns. So I printed out this lovely Tiddly Inks digi that I was so enthusiastic about buying and never actually used and went big with some of my brightest pinks and greens. Then I went looking for some floral DP to go with it, but I don't really have a lot of floral DP. But I did have this fun paper with globes and flowers and thought it was a nice way to represent our teapotters around the world. I did mute the flowers a little bit with colored pencil and some Antique Linen brushed over it to bring the colors down to the level of the DP. Then I found a perfect sentiment stamp--one that my friend gave me for Christmas and stamped it in green and black. For some reason the green turned black in the photo, but I promise those large words are green. Finished off with some Nuvo Dream Drops on the flowers and a few iridescent sequins for bling. Flowers aren't me, but in the end this card does feel like me. I had fun making it and I hope the receiving teapotter enjoys it!

Bright colours and lots of patterns is definitely you. The sentiment made me smile, because just this morning on our coffee break, DH asked what was blowing past the window, and it was almost like snow of tiny white petals. Sure hope it's not as windy when I have to cycle into work later in the week! I think that DP with the globes is such fun, and your flowers are beautiful.

Oh, so happy to see your modern take on Mrs D’s flowers, Jen! Those blossoms are luscious and toning them down just a bit with the ink was the way to make them play well with your fun bg! Totally applauding your use of the patterned DP. It is busy connecting us globally with a midge of flowers tossed to the winds. And lastly, but commanding the starring role is that bold sentiment...genius. See you can do flowers, smile! Wonderful!
