I've been wanting to do this challenge since I saw it last week. Today was the day. Unfortunately I had a couple of minor coffee hiccups along the way and I'm afraid I may have to dismantle the card and start again but that is for another day.
I die cut the frames after stamping my sentiment on a piece of vellum I had..It is actually coffee colour vellum lol.
All was going good until it was time for my craft class with our DGD..she is 7...and DH decided to bring me a cup of coffee and choccie biccie...just what you need when crafting lol.
We were going good painting underwater worlds and onto a jungle when I reached over to get a piece of paper towel. Oopsy..I had forgotten I had plonked my die cuts on top of it and they both fell on top of my frothy coffee. Dabbed with the now wet and more than coffee coloured paper towel. The back die cut was fine but the vellum has a true coffee stain. Oh well it is a coffee card and framed sentiment so I press on with it after DGD and I finish our FaceTime craft get together.
I found some donut paper, added that and now my mojo has totally gone out of the window. Glue my die cuts and I know about vellum and how I shouldn't put too much glue on but it's starting to wrinkle now. Out comes the bone scorer...I've seen tricks on YouTube with these babies lol. Unfortunately there are no tricks happening here for me today.
Ok..add my bow and beans..yep I know they are bling but they are coffee coloured and beans lol. Done.
I wasn't going to put this in my gallery and probably will delete it later but I thought I would give some of my friends a giggle today. It can only happen to me. Did I ever tell you my middle name...ask my mate Gracie lol.
DGD did suggest I threw it in the bin but I shall keep it as a reminder of what not to do. I have more vellum so I may be able to resurrect it some day. Now it goes in my reject box.
I think I will add it under the Alpha C challenge too lol.
Happy day and TFL. Quote for today...never drink coffee (or red wine) near your craft projects

I thought the same thing as Jan above! It looks like it was stamped on cloth. I have many scrapbook pages with wine splashes on them. Memories of fun crafting days with friends! I like your card and love your sentiment!

Ah, yes, another klutzy crafter! You know that I can relate! I love that you didn't throw it in the bin and decided to make it into a card. A fun reminder of the day you had art class with your DGD over Facetime! Happy memories...it may transform into a scrapbook page one day! XO

Jayne,
you held this card together beautifully!! It works wonderfully with the coffee stain, besides I just thought it was ink that had ran and it is a very cool look! No worries! It's wonderful!

The coffee stain makes it an authentic coffee card. And who doesn't want to have a donut with their coffee? Make mine maple frosted or a white powdered sugar donut, please. Love the write up and am glad you went ahead and added it to your gallery. Such fun, I can just imagine it all happening!

Thanks for the fun story...I needed that smile for sure with my coffee! I agree with Jan and Ann...I, too, thought it looked like an embroidery pattern on its hoop ready to stitched, plus love the sentiment as well. I love the thought of keeping it as a reminder of what NOT to do...I have lots of those myself. Make my coffee companion peanut butter cookies or a custard-filled chocolate iced donut...that would surely make quite the mess!

What a wonderful coffee-themed card this is Jayne. I so enjoyed your writeup on the making of this card. You take us on a wonderful adventure and that is appreciated during these times. I would definitely say keep this card Jayne. It is terrific and so perfect for a coffee card. Hugs! ~Karen.
