A shorter work day today let me play catch up with Dina's Keep Your Distance MIX challenge from two weeks ago, and Anna's Vacation Time one from last week.
I have three fish per Dina's challenge.
I'm snorkelling and enjoying looking at them for Anna's. Actually, I'm too short-sighted to really enjoy snorkelling at its best, I need to get a prescription mask. But when they come close enough I can see them well, and do enjoy it.
Mediums - the background is a gel print on deli paper and the blue strip is the offcut remnant of another one on a book page.
I used alcohol inks to colour some photo paper for the fish bodies, and used glossy black card for the stripes and eyes.
There are Brushos on the seaweed, as it's cut from a coffee filter left from making coffee filter prints.
I die-cut the sequins from some amazing iridescent I don't know what to call it - heavy acetate? It came with a note saying it was open stock from Recollections. It sure makes great sequins, though I had to shim to get them to cut properly. To finish I added a sentiment that was on my desk, because who doesn't always need birthday cards, and a white border along the bottom. I had one cut for the top too, but I think it looks better without.

So delightful with all the textures. Those fish looking amazing with the black glossy stripes. The seaweed, the sequins and diecut borders are all wonderful. Someone will be getting a cool birthday card!
