The Tea Party are sending cheery wishes to Teri who has just lost her Pirate King Al.
All things nautical. Firstly I brayered the background in blue using Oxide Inks. Oh boy I am not good at this brayering. How people get a nice smooth finish is beyond me. It looks so easy - ha ha ha. Well I eventually gave up on this technique thinking it wasn't for me at all. I couldn't get a nice smooth wash of colour. I then sprinkled a little sprinkle of diluted Brusho Crystals in several colours and gave it a spritz with water. This sort of hides the uneven brayering hopefully.
The image I have used is from Penny Black - coloured with water colour pencils and highlighted with a bit of glitter pen. Die cut the little birds and nautical items and attached them to the card.
I will put this card in the mail tomorrow - but I don't know when it will get delivered - postal system here is clogged up with online shopping parcels waiting to be delivered so probably all mail will be held up even more seeing that there are very few aircraft flying into or out of Australia at the moment.
Hope you enjoy.

Oh wow, the first thing I noticed was your fabulous background, keep brayering just like this - it looks magic! Your colouring is terrific Helen, you have brought this pirate lassie to life.

I'm with you on the brayering - it works better on glossy card is all I can say, and that's not much. But the Brushos give that a fantastic look - I'm sure I have some Sizzix papers with that speckled finish.
What a super image, love the Al-batross perched on the mast, and the birds flying both over the image and the background.

That background is fabulous and I love how it highlights your adorable image. I love this stamp. Never added it to my collection, but have admired it often. You colored her beautifully. Wonderful card.
