Our Ways to this week is NO Stamping. Cathy is our hostess and has brought us a lovely inlaid die technique card. I have to confess, Cathy, I didn't think I could make a card and not stamp! But after I took a deep breath and looked over my pile (a stack of die cuts from lacy quilter), a stack of vintage papers, and Cathy's reminder to use die cuts, I ventured forward.
I began with the floral oval and an embossed floral heart. The Tim Holtz big WISH die cut came next. I used a heavy piece of cardboard for the cut. Embossed with VersaMark and used Ranger 'Punch' Mixed Media Embossing Powder. I heated it in different ways to vary the look. The sheet music paper was die cut also with a Sizzix Harlequin pattern. The patterned bg from Memory Box was also dry embossed with a Paper Studio 'Modern' ef. I rubbed 'Olive' Gelato over the top. Stapled to a Basic Grey dp panel. PTI white base.
Thank you, Cathy, for challenging me to put my stamps away...and think outside my favorite box!!!
Can't wait to see the gallery. Have fun, friends.

Oh, I just love the mix of textures and elements on this beautiful collage-like creation, Susan! It's amazing what we can do without stamping...but it is a challenge so thanks so much for joining us today and including your lovely card in the gallery!

That heart has such depth with the embossing. I love how the H in wish reaches up to the heart, and the little diamond bits of music are delightful. A perfect card!

I never doubted that you could do this beautifully. Collage comes naturally to you, stamps or no stamps. I know, it's all about the stamps, and I agree. But this is really beautiful and interesting and I love it. I love the music bits.

So many wonderful textures and shapes in your artful collage!! Love how the colors and shapes flow together. The oval pp looks like beautiful fabric and that embossed heart is gorgeous.
