I wasn't sure about this challenge at first, since I honestly don't do fairies! But I decided to give it a go anyway, and read the poem that went with the letter A fairy. (My first name starts with A.) It mentioned lilacs, & I knew I had this lilac stamp, so I decided to go with that.
I placed the stamp in my MISTI, & used a purple marker to "ink" up the flowers. I spritzed it with a bit of water, & stamped that on a panel of bristol paper. I repeated the process with the leaves & a light green marker. I went over the flowers & leaves with a damp paintbrush to blend the color just a bit. I also used an acrylic block as a "palette," & scribbled on it with my markers so I could pick up the ink with my brush to add a bit more color. Finally, I added a darker purple & darker green to parts of the stamp, and stamped without using any water to give some shading.
I die cut the panel with a "Rounded Rectangle Infinity" die, & used the next larger die to cut a dark green mat. I adhered the image panel to my mat, and added that to a panel of patterned paper that I'd mounted to a white card base. I found a cool-looking button in my stash. I tied purple & white baker's twine in a bow through the button holes, then adhered it to my card with a glue dot. I chose not to add any greeting, and keep this as just a general card for whatever occasion comes up.
