Angie, what a fun VSN challenge! I can't wait to see the gallery. My husband said this was not a woodland scene, more like a garden party...but nevertheless. My elegant ladies are out in nature! And they are dressed to the nines and having a grand time discussing their favorite books.
Yes, it's also TPT Challenge Swap. Our hostess, Sue (sue2 has issued a call for our cards to be inspired by the latest book or favorite book. Well, I simply can't pick a favorite book...but one author never fails to lighten my spirit, reminding me of the childlike wonder of just that...WONDER. So while it might seen odd these beautiful women are out in the grove, they know how to celebrate with a light heart.
The women were stamped first and then masked. I used B Line Designs 'Grove Trees' stamping three times. The dresses and women were watercolored. That big Cat in the Hat hat was saved from a Target ad.
I have to confess this took more than my allotted hour. But since it is for two challenges, I am asking the spirit of the law and not the letter...smile.
Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder.
Thanks for your comments. I can't wait to see what has inspired you!

I have often wondered what elegant women wear on a walk through the woodlands...now I know... a big red and white hat LOL. Susan this is such a fun take on both challenges. Your quirky creations and sense of adventure make my heart smile.

You never cease to amaze me with your designs. The fashionable babes the woods are one thing but the addition of the Seuss hat ( plus hand) is a wonder ...really cool card.

Fun card Susan and I didn’t expect the hat with your elegantly dressed ladies lol. Great for both challenges. I think I could fit in at that party once I’d cleaned the ink and glitter off me lol. Tfs. Keep well and keep having fun

Ha! This is great! I would love to come upon these ladies in the woods! What fun that would be! I love your sentiment! It makes me think of the times we took our little two-year-old boy into the woods. We would be hiking along and every few feet he would stop in wonder. We would pass right by but our son would always spot interesting things on the path. Sweet memories!
